Chapman), from the known Chapman correspondence addressed to Mrs. Kate L. Chapman, Talladega, Ala from her husband Lieut William S. Chapman of Co D 1st Ala Inf which was organized in Pensacola in April 1861. Lieut Chapman had later service as Capt of Co G 31st Ala Inf and did survive the war; Cover very slightly reduced at the top and part of the backflap missing, otherwise Very Fine.
