Patriotic design with "Henry Blues" slogan at top with "Blues" crossed out and "Grays" added in manuscript, on cover to Abbeville, Ala. with manuscript "Warenton Sprgs, Augst 27" manuscript postmark and "10" rate, soldier endorsement "From M. Holmes private, company A 6th Regiment Ala. Vol." at bottom left; cover tear at top and slight rough opening at left just affecting design, Fine, an extremely rare Alabama regimental design. Estimate  $400 - 600. In the 6th Regiment Alabama Volunteers, the Henry Grays were designated as Company A and the Henry (Columbia) Blues where designated as Company K. Organized & recruited by Thomas Tipton Smith from Henry County Alabama. He was the first Captain and a native Virginian. $0 (Image)
