Confederacy, United States 1857 5¢ Brown, Used in the Confederate States, horizontal pair (very nice stamps affixed upside down but with part of the imprint at the left) on a Trans-Atlantic Cover from New Orleans, La to Spain, stamps tied by "New Orleans, La./Mar. 4 1861" cds and sent via New York with red "New York Br, Pkt." cds & black "12. Rs." Spanish due handstamp, The British Packet "Adriatic" of the Cunard Line carried the cover and arrived in Queenstown 23 MAR 1861, minor bit of cover toning, Very Fine and rare usage, A truly spectacular cover.
