A unique item from a Union sympathiser in Confederate Texas. EstimateĀ  $750 - 1,000. Includes is original 3-page letter datelined "Matagorda, May 23, 1861" from a young girl to her cousin that notes "What do you think of the times? I think it is getting to be Hard Times. I have made me a very pretty flag and when I hear of any news, I raise it. Ma has promised me a silk flag or a party if the South takes the City of Washington without burning it down.". $0 (Image)
