Manuscript on 1861 5Ā¢ green on cover to Macon, Geo. with manuscript "Paid 2/-" Express rate at left, minor flap tear, Extremely Fine, a most unusual & unique item. EstimateĀ  $2,000 - 3,000. Adams Express and the other express companies of the South were ordered to stop mail service "across-the-lines" on August 26, 1861.
