Locke, Co E 39th Mass, Salisbury N.C., A prisoner of War in the Confederate Lines" and he says that he is assisting in Hospital Ward No. 5. John F. Locke was an 18 year old clerk from Somerville Mass. (born in Boston) when he enlisted as a private on August 12, 1862.
