Calef" to his Father in Salem, Mass. and is sent from Prison Camp Sorghum with manuscript censor's "Exd. J.C. Martin, Capt." marking (J.C. Martin, Commander of Guard Force), franked with United States 1861 3¢ rose & Confederate States 1863-64 10¢ blue (replacement) with "Old Point Comfort/Dec. 16" (1864) double circle postmark, cover with original enclosure dated lined "C.S.A.
