Confederacy, Privately Carried Internal Express Cover (Money Letter), Richmond, Va with Military Address to Sergt Junius L. Powell Signal Corps, Grahamville, S. Carolina 1864, Express company notations on the face of the cover indicate that it was completely paid with the express company agent's initials. Cover contained $50.00 in cash. Multiple Richmond "Contents Unknown" wax seals on the back, the original short letter is with the cover from the addressee's father starting that he is sending $50.00 in the new notes (two twenties and a ten) dated at "Richmond May 2nd 1864", cover with a very rough and ragged opening at the left which has been backed for preservation to a clean and exhibitable appearance, Fine and scarce, Confederate internal express covers are quite scarce.
