Confederacy, Milledgeville, Ga., 1861, 5¢ black. Provisional markings on neat 1862 cover franked with 1861-62 10¢ blue Hoyer & Ludwig affixed of Provisional rate markings & addressed to "His Excellency, Alexr. H. Stephens, Vice Prest. C.S.A., Richmond Va.", 10¢ tied by "Milledgeville Ga./Apr. 3" cds, the 10¢ is a lovely example with four huge margins (tiny corner defect) & has been moved to show markings & is hinged to the cover, flap missing & small cover repair at left, Very Fine. Scott No. 57XU1  Estimate $300 - 400. The cover is sent from the Governor of Georgia and has docketing on the reverse in the hand of Alexander Stephens, Vice President of the Confederate States. $0 (Image)
