Three strikes of double circle postmark tying three 1857 1Ā¢ blue, type V on cover with lovely green embossed cameo corner card of the "Lanier House" in Macon, cover addressed to "A.H. Stephens" (Vice President) in Richmond, docketed on reverse "L.C. Belt, Captain of the Toombs Guards writes from Macon, Ga. May 31, 1861 requesting Mr. Stephens to have a Regiment of Ga. troops ordered to Virginia that his company may go. Says Gov. Brown will arm them.", cover lightly clean & some minor edge restoration, lovely Very Fine appearance, a very scarce last day of usage, ex-Knapp, MacBride. EstimateĀ  $500 - 750. $0 (Image)
