Payne, P.M./5" ("Southern" curved) and tied by blue "Danville Va. Jan. 30" (1862) cds on cover to Flat River P.O. N.C., sender's routing "Via Greensboro, Hillsboro", the entire is fresh and immaculate, Extremely Fine. Scott No. 21XU1  Estimate $3,000 - 4,000. There are approximately 20 known examples of the Danville provisional (19 listed in Crown book).
