Feb 17, 1862, blue double-circle cds on orange cover bearing 1861, 5¢ green, Stone 2, Position 50, full margins except just touched at right, cancelled with matching blue grid, addressed to Mrs. Peyton R. Harrison, Martinsburg Berkeley Co., Va., clean and Very Fine. Scott No. 1  Estimate $150 - 200. Martinsburg in Berkeley County would later in 1863 be incorporated into the Union State of West Virginia. The addressee was the widow of Lieutenant Peyton R. Harrison (1832-1861) Co D 2nd Va Inf as Lieutenant Harrison was Killed-in-Action the previous summer at First Manassas 7/21/1861. $0 (Image)
