Confederacy, Camp Oglethorpe - (Macon, Ga.). Large manuscript "Examined WSS" censor's marking (W.S. Scott) on cover to Mrs. Carrie Pierce in Bloomingdale, N.Y. with pencil endorsement "Prisoner's Letter" at left, postmarked "Old Point Comfort, Va./Jul 18" (1864) with "Due 6" rate handstamp in circle, annotated on "reverse Letter from Capt. Jas. H. Pierce, Co. C, 118th Reg., New York Vol. Inf.", light vert. fold, Very Fine and rare. Estimate  $500 - 750.
