Confederacy, 1863, 2¢ Brown Red, Two Singles on Forwarded Cover, single, large margins to barely touched at top, tied by Greenville C.H., S.C. cds on 1864 wrapper endorsed "circular" to Columbia, S.C. paying the 2¢ circular rate, wrapper then forwarded back to Greenville and additionally franked with second 1863, 2¢ Red in superb condition with large even margins, tied by pretty blue "Columbia, S.C., Apr. 7" cds, Extremely Fine and choice, ex-Cantey, Haas, Monroe; with 2001 C.S.A. certificate. Scott No. 8  Estimate $7,500 - 10,000. A RARE AND UNIQUE USAGE WITH TWO 2¢ RED JACKS, ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH TWO DIFFERENT SHADES OF RED BROWN MAKE A LOVELY CONTRAST. This stunning cover was acquired from the late Colonel Edward B. Cantey, Jr. collection and latter sold in our Sale 43.
