Scott No. 11c  Estimate $300 - 400. This is the listing example of the Type IV 1850s postmark used during the Civil War. On this date, the Charleston Post Office must have pressed into service an old blue ink pad unused since 1855. It is also the only recorded use of the old blue ink at Charleston during the Confederate period.
