Confederacy, 1863, 10¢ blue, "T-E-N", four ample to large margins, tied by violet "Lynchburg, Va./May 25" cds on adversity cover made from legal form and addressed to Richmond, Very Fine and attractive, Lynchburg is one of the few Confederate States towns known to have violet postmarks, and undoubtedly this started out as a violet postmark, however through the years it has loss most of its violet coloring and now appears more as a black postmark with a tinge of violet color remaining. Still a wonderful cover & usage, ex-DuPuy. Scott No. 9 Estimate $1,000 - 1,500. $0 (Image)
