Confederacy, 1861 Stampless Letter From England Via Nashville To Richmond, Va. With blue Nashville, Ten., Jun 26, 1861 postmark with straight line "Paid" & pencil manuscript "20" rate; probably carried by private express to Nashville where it entered the mails, a fascinating letter regarding Tobacco mentions" In estimating the future of the Tobacco Market, it will be well to look at our stock and to remember that Maryland and Kentucky are free to export perhaps Tennessee also, and only in the prospect of a long protracted struggleā€¦", and goes on to mention the Blockage on several different occasions including "attempts to elude the Blockade", Very Fine, a scarce usage after suspension of mails from England.
