Huge margins, tied by neat "Charleston, S.C., Oct 6, 186_" town cancel on 1862 cover to "General Johnson Pettigrew, Petersburg, Virginia", expertly repaired flap tear which just extends onto front of the cover, Extremely Fine and choice, a lovely gem. Scott No. 2e  Estimate $400 - 600. Pettigrew commanded the defense of Petersburg in 1863 and was mortally wounded at Falling Waters, W. Va. 17 July 1863. $0 (Image)
