Major Gen. Mansfield Lovell (1822-1886) was in command at New Orleans when the city fell to the Union in April 1862 and was blamed for the loss of the city. He commanded an Infantry Division at Corinth and Coffeeville later in 1862, but after Coffeeville was relieved for losing New Orleans, and never given any further assignments during the war. $0 (Image)
