Sep 19 1861" cds and manuscript "5" due rating, returned address "Private R.C. Johnson Beaufort District Troop Hampton Legion", with original enclosure datedlined "Camp Near Manassas Sep 17.61" and states "The 8th Ga. has lost its best field officer, Col. Bartow and Adjutant Branch being killed…", Very Fine, a remarkable Bartow patriotic cover with original letter mentioning his death at Manassas. Estimate  $2,000 - 3,000.
