Ex. Dep. of Va./S.B.F." (Col. Samuel Bassett French), inside usage is franked with uncancelled 1862 5¢ blue (defective) with light manuscript "H.S. College, Va./May 7/'62" postmark, addressed, "Care of Major R.L. Dabney, Headquarters of Gen. Jackson, Army of the Valley of Va.", some slight edge wear splits, F.-V.F., a wonderful usage.
