Manuscript routing endorsement on small cover to Clinton, La. franked with 1861 5¢ green (large margins, creased) cancelled by grid with "Vicksburg, Miss./May 27, 1862" double circle postmark, soldier's manuscript endorsement at top, Very Fine. Scott No. 1  Estimate $400 - 600. A very scarce cover sent via Liberty, Miss., indicating an inland route to avoid going down the Mississippi and avoiding Union capture. The sender was unaware however, that the Union advancement had halted at Baton Rouge, south of Clinton. $0 (Image)
