Anderson, Inglis Light Artillery, Adams Run S.C., soldier's endorsement of "T. M. Merriman, Ingli Lt Arty" and forwarded free of charge to Confederate "Gun Boat Chicora, Charleston", Very Fine, ex-Brugh. EstimateĀ  $300 - 400. On July 29th 1861, the Confederate Congress approved free forwarding of mail addressed to Military personnel. The law specifically did not apply to civilians.
