Confederacy, "Peytona". Manuscript packet boat endorsement on cover to Port Gibson, Miss. and franked with 1861 5¢ green (just in at top) tied by "Grand Gulf, Miss./ Feb. 8" (1862) cds, flap missing, Very Fine, ex-Matz. Scott No. 1  Estimate $750 - 1,000. The "Peytona" was a Confederate States Mail Boat operating on the Mississippi River and its tributaries. She was burned and scuttled in the Yazoo River in July of 1863, by Commander Brown, to keep her from falling into the hands of the Union Navy. $0 (Image)
