Confederacy, "Jackson, May 29" (Ga.), manuscript postmark ties 1861, 5¢ green, four margins, stain at bottom, on orange cover with military address to Col. D. J. Bailey at Box 500 in Savannah Ga., F.-V.F. Scott No. 1  Estimate $150 - 200. David J. Baily enlisted in the 30th Georgia Infantry on October 7, 1861. He was a Georgia Congressman and in September 1861 he established Camp Bailey with the permission of Governor Joseph E. Brown. Camp Bailey was located between Fairburn and Palmetto, Ga. along the railroad track. This company became known as Company K, the "Chattahoochee Volunteers". $0 (Image)
