From early September 1861 until the latter part of February 1862, the Confederate forces occupied that portion of Kentucky located south and west of the Green River. Occupied post office in this area included such towns as Bowling Green, Columbus, Glasgow, Marion, Hickman and Hopkinsville. During the period of partial occupation, the occupied Kentucky was accepted into the Confederacy by the CSA Congress on December 9, 1861 as the 13th state. $0 (Image)
