British "COLON MY 20 74" on front as as a "12" tax mark, in Rome 1,70 Lire are paid with italian postage due stamps (10c + 60 c + 1 L), red "LOND(ON) E(C) JU 12 74" and "ROMA 16 GIU 74" arrivalon reverse. Columbia 1876, Coat of Arms 5c. orange and 10c. violet on cover from Medellin to Bordeaux, clearly postmarked with high-contrast red oval "MEDELLIN" and faint blue c.d.s. 9 Oct alongside, via British P.O. "SAVANILA OC 16 76" and steamer "Para", London 13 Nov transit mark on reverse and same-day French entry marking "CALAIS" which also ties 5c. orange, several postage due and accountancy markings on front. Some toning on reverse/envelope opened at two sides is mentioned for accuracy only. Rare and attractive combination, stated to be the only mixed franking of this issue. Vapor frances" via the Dutch East Indies (Curaçao), franked by 1891-97 1c. block of ten and 10c. strip of three, all tied "(RECOMENDADOS) BARRANQUILLA/24 MAR 97" c.d.s., Colombian and Curaçao registered labels on front, Curaçao '4 4 1897' transit datestamp on the reverse. A few stamps with imperfections but still a good and very unusual cover and franking.
