Valentine Collection Balance, 1840-80's. Of 10 covers and 4 separate enclosures; covers include 1847 folded letter Valentine from Portland, Me. to Prince Edward Island (stained and soiling), ca. 1850's local stampless oversized bronze floral design from Bilerica, Mass., large bronze ornamental design cover from Winchester, N.Y. with enclosure, 1865 floral embossed design with #65 from Shrewsbury, Vt., couple other stampless embossed covers from he 1850-60's and three others from the 1870's franked with 3¢ Banknote (one with enclosure), another franked with #210 with enclosure, enclosures are early decorated sheets ca. 1840-50's; condition nice overall, generally F.-V.F. or better.

Group of over 32 covers with all having enclosed Valentines; with various 1¢, 2¢ & 3¢ issue frankings including one 2¢ vermilion pair use, wide range of townmarks with many Valentine's Day dates, section of 7 penny dreadful comical Valentines, most embossed bordered covers with an array of multicolored Valentine enclosure of the period, interesting carte-de-viste with printed "How To Kiss A Lady" bordered instructions; condition a bit varied, generally F.-V.F. or better.
