Ceylon, Collection, 1857-1900, well formed mint and used collection housed on album pages, approaching completion missing only a handful of the scarcer issues; starting with 1857 fist issues complete used, used 1857-59 issues including 4-margin 10d and 1sh values, good 1861 clean cut perf issues */o, 1861 rough perf issues missing only the 1sh9d value and includes the 2sh issue mint in shades (Sc. 36-36a, cat $800 & $1,100), good showing of 1863-67 issues with a nice section of watermark 1b issues including shades, later issues appear to missing only three stamps for completion for the period including the scarce 1872 perf 12½ issues used, 1885 surcharges with 10¢ on 16¢ used (Sc. 101, cat $3,200) and better 10¢ surcharge */o, later crown C.C. watermark surcharges with 5¢ on 24¢ purple brown (Sc. 120, cat $600), later issues all present including a selection of 10 additional surcharge varieties, also a complete section of Officials mostly mint; a lovely collection of these difficult issues with condition well above the norm, a must see to appreciate, ex Isleham.
