New Brunswick: 1932 Pence Issue Set of four Argenti's forger "A", marked by "A", each with "FAC-SIMILE" overprint, includes both shades of the 12d (one thin). (1-4 var.) $78,000 if genuine very fine . Ex Walske.
Newfoundland: 1857, 1s scarlet vermilion," bisected" "tied"on faulty folded letter sheet, bearing red London 1860 receiver and Newfoundland transit. The stamp seems genuine, the cancel not so, (9a) $20,000 if genuine.
Canada: 1857, Queen Victoria, 7½d green engraved forgery by Erasmo Oneglia, "used", very rare Ex Petri.Greene Cert.(2015). (9 var.) $3,000 as genuine.
Erasmo Oneglia was born in 1853 in Italy. He was an engraver and a successful stamp forger for several decades, he prefered the classics. He forged 788 stamps of 30 countries.
SPERATI Reproduction: Canada; 1859, Beaver, 5¢ vermilion "The Beaver", Negative glass support clichè with painted surrounding to highlight the design and create contrast, a truly unique and significant item with stunning visual impact for an exhibition. Previously unknown in the handbooks of his work, this is a new discovery. The vermilion color used by Sperati typically increases in density and thus is able to provide a sufficient contrast and to give a good matrix. Ex "The Find".(Scott 15R var. )
