SPERATI Reproduction: Canada; 1859, Beaver, 5¢ vermilion "The Beaver", Negative glass support clichè with painted surrounding to highlight the design and create contrast, a truly unique and significant item with stunning visual impact for an exhibition. Previously unknown in the handbooks of his work, this is a new discovery. The vermilion color used by Sperati typically increases in density and thus is able to provide a sufficient contrast and to give a good matrix. Ex "The Find".(Scott 15R var. )
