Canada, 1935, Prince of Wales essays & proof. As part of Canada's King George V Silver Jubilee issues, the 5c value pictures the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII. This fascinating group includes what is said to be one of only five copies of the originating photo essay inscribed by E. Loizeaux the designer; also includes the photo essay on card of the central vignette, and plate proof pair (positions 13 & 14 LL). Stunning collection of mint and used in hingeless Lindner album, meticulously assembled for freshness, centering and true color. #1, 2 & 2a are four margin lightly cancelled gems, #7 very lightly cancelled close to large margins, lovely color and margins on #8, #9 bright color and 4 margins close to large (with A.I.E.P. photo cert), #4 on cover; #11 Fine example with CPES cert; pristine #16Pi 10c Prince Albert specimen; lovely large Queens, small Queens some beautiful examples including #45 XF mint o.g. with Greene Foundation cert; thereafter virtually complete mint, including Jubilees, QV Maple Leafs and Numerals all mint with some fabulous fresh centered items; Edward lacks the 50¢, Quebec Centenary complete with wonderful centering; Admirals same; and so on throughout.
