Ample to mostly large margins, crease in lower right margin well away from design, tied by light grid handstamps on cover to Edinburgh, Scotland, matching "Toronto, C.W., Aug 27" cds and manuscript "By Canadian Mail, From Quebec" endorsement, carried on Allan Line Canadian II from Quebec to Liverpool with bold red "Pkt. Letter, Paid, Liverpool, Sp 8, 57" tombstone date stamp, reverse with red "By - Canadian Packet" two line handstamp and barred Warrington handstamp, forwarded to Ardrossan with appropriate backstamps; some minor cover edge wear, Very Fine, a lovely usage paying the Canadian packet rate to England and one of two 1857 7½d usages on carried on the Allan line, with 1990 Bühler & 1995 B.P.A. certificates.
