NOVA SCOTIA 1852 DOCUMENT SIGNED BY QUEEN VICTORIA: Four-page 1852 document (8 x 12.5 inches) stating Queen Victoria appoints SIR JOHN GASPARD LE MARCHANT as Lieut. Governor of Nova Scotia. Has been signed "VICTORIA RI" at top. Has embossed official seal, £200 embossed revenue stamp, and London docketing seal dated 26.6.52. Le Marchant joined the British Army in 1820 at age 17, eventually reaching the rank of Colonel. He was Governor of Newfoundland from 1847-52 before being appointed Lieut. Governor of Nova Scotia. F.
