C10, 10ยข Dark Blue "Spirit of St. Louis" Issue Event Cover, F-VF, typed addr to Toledo, Ohio, pmk cds "HOUSTON, TEXAS/JUN 26/1928 w/AIRMAIL/SAVES TIME" pictorial killer, reverse has "TOLEDO/JUN 27/OHIO/1928" duplex ccl, cover stamped (6) time w/KICKING DONKEY pictorial & "HE'S IN HOUSTON" caption. June 26, 1928 was the date of the opening of the 1928 Democratic National Convention that selected Al Smith as the nominee for President. Since Smith stayed in New York, we believe the caption refers to the appearance of Woodrow Wilson at the convention. Great political collateral material.
