1911 (31 Dec) 4s stationery card from Peking to Berlin, with I.J.P.O. Peking departure, violet "I.J.P.O. Mukden-Changchun South Manchuria" datestamp below, fine and scarce usage via Mukden (during the Russo-Japanese War, Mukden became the site of the Battle of Mukden from February 19 to March 10, 1905. Involving more than 600,000 combatants, it was the largest modern-era battle ever fought in Asia before World War II. Following this Japanese victory, Mukden became one of the chief bases of Japanese expansion into southern Manchuria) (Image)
