1853 10c Deep Blue on white paper, pair with margins all around except at right, tied by mute cancels to Nov. 16, 1856 cover from Valparaiso (red cds) to “Chincha o Pisco,” PERU with nice strike of fancy PISCO / VAPOR (L+R fig. 68, not listed used from Pisco) as bs, rated 2 1/2 (reales) on arrival for 1r steamer charge and 1 1/2r Peruvian internal mail, very fine showpiece overall. Note: the printing could be that of the later Santiago print, but this seems precluded by the date of use! (Image)
