VALUABLE HOARD OF BRITISH COLUMBIA REVENUE STAMPS ON DOCUMEN - An extensive collection formed many years ago and offered intact in five binders housing 314 documents of various purposes spanning 100 years of British Columbia Law Stamps. We note several bisect usages as well as numerous unusual frankings, different Court cancels, shade and perforation varieties and multiples; many show scarce usage of 30c and $5 values. The number of documents for each series is -- Pre-stamp period (4), first (20), second (21), third (43), fourth (21), fifth (40), sixth (17), seventh (40), eighth (19), ninth (48), tenth (22) and eleventh (17). Better bisect usages include #BCL9a, 11a, 12d, 16b, 25b and 26d; better perforation varieties & errors include #BCL5b, 5c, 11b, 19c, 22b, 25a, 26a. Two documents show a rare usage of a British stamp used as a revenue together with a British Columbia Law Stamp. Also includes 18 different and very scarce British Columbia revenue meters. Many items are seldom seen to very rare. A fabulous lot that would took many years to assemble and is widely regarded as the best available (Provenance: Chesapeake Collection, private treaty)
