1917 TORONTO & MONTREAL D.L.O., a postcard illegally mailed at Montreal with USA postage and addressed to Fairfax-Virginia, sent to the Montreal Branch D.L.O. on SEP21-1917 with a clerk No.B oval receiver h/s and forwarded to the Toronto Branch D.L.O. since Toronto was the exchange office for USA mail to Virginia, a request for double the deficiency 4¢ was sent to the addressee (2 x the 2¢ USA postcard rate with 1¢ postage + 1¢ war tax), the fee was received on SEP 25th and Toronto D.L.O. Clerk No.8 added the 2¢ Canada postage with a scarce coil #124, the card was then placed back into the mail system, ex-Steinhart with 3 different D.L.O. markings, F-VF est ($75+ US) (Image)
