British Naval Postal History Group with Contents - 6 letters, 5 with covers, dated 1851-1853 to "His Serene Highness, the Landgrave, Charles Augustus of Hesse." Four letters from British Naval Officer Wilhelm of Glessen on board "H.M.S. Cleopatra" while on active duty. The other two from "Gordon Castle" in Fochabers (OC 16 1853) and Windsor (DE2 1852, mourning letter). Covers with multiple routing cancels including Hong Kong, Calcutta, India PAID, Bearing, Seebrief, RPO's, Trieste, etc. A wonderful British postal history group. (Est $275-350) (Image)
