Collection of Christmas Seals, Sheets and Covers, 1927 to 2021, with thousands of mostly mint stamps (singles, booklets, blocks, sheets) plus used on covers on album pages and black Vario sheets in three binders. The breadth and depth of coverage in this collection is above average, including some early precursors to the regular issues that began in 1927 in both English and French. The collection is complete in the period for singles and has an abundance of extra material including booklets (complete or panes only for 1938, 1939 and 1940) and progressive proofs (1941, 1942, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1963, 1979, 1990 and others), gift tags, and local and regional letters from the Tuberculosis societies, with which the seals arrived. The material is fine to very fine and has the makings of a future exhibit. There is duplication of many sheets, singles and multiples. This very clean, well-organized collection also includes two excellent references: The National Christmas Seals of Canada 1927-2008 (Beattie, Chung and Vogel) and Green's Catalog of Canadian Local and Provincial Tuberculosis Seals (Christmas Seal and Charity Stamp Society, Revised 2007). Our photos capture only a small portion of the collection, which would benefit from in-person viewing to appreciate the full contents. (Image)
