1936 (23 Aug) cover addressed to England, with framed "Damaged by Sea Water" handstamp, markings and stamps mostly intact, salvaged from the crash of "Scipio" Seaplane, at Mirabella, Crete. The plane was in transit from Alexandria to Brindisi, when it landed heavily in Mirabella Harbor in rough seas, flipped over and sank with the loss of two crew members. (Image)
