1925 Francesco De Pinedo's Calcutta to Melbourne cover franked with two uncanceled India 1a adhesives, three-line "Italian Consul General's (Melbourne) letter of 12-11-25 Calcutta to Melbourne by Seaplane, 13/5/25", with appropriate "Italian World Air Flight" cachet on back. Only 93 letters were carried and delivered to the Italian Consul General in Melbourne. De Pinedo cut off the left portion of each letter (bearing his signature), as the senders had refused to pay a charity donation of Rs20 requested.
