World War I postal history group of 74 different mostly POW postcards from the captured Austrian/Hungarian army on the Eastern front found burried in the Twin Pines estate. Since the Slavs and the Bohemians had status within the Russian camps they were able to get these mainly Red Cross cards out and back to their families. Many are addressed to Josef Benes important to the formation of Czechoslovakia. Great postal history from a truly chaotic time. More of these than we have seen in one place in a long time. Collectors of WWI, Russian, Czech, and Serb postal history should all have a look. (Image)

An enticing Austria assembly of various collections. Includes both mint and used 19th and 20th century front and Back of the Book. Great opportunity for the early issue cancel collector as many hundreds abound. Duplication should be expected as the group consists multiple collections. Also spotted is a stock book and 1941 Schaubek album, both housing early mainly European issues added for ballast. The group holds plenty of potential to build an impressive starter collection as there two newer Schaubek hingless albums already included in the lot. (Image)
