American Postal Machine Co. - "Sea Post No. 2, Mar 5, 1931". Type A14 flag machine cancel ties 2¢ carmine on philatelic cover to Indianapolis Ind., signed "Theodore Roosevelt" at top left, Very Fine and rare.

ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED STRIKES OF THIS RARE SEA POST FLAG CANCEL.

This postmark was used on the S.S. Borinquen from Feb. 28th to March, 1931. The name "Borinquen" is the original name in the language of the Carib Indians, for the island of Puerto Rico. The original d copy of this "Sea Post No. 2" machine flag sold for $2,500 many years ago.

One of the other two recorded examples of this rare postal marking realized $9,000 hammer in the first Brody sale held by Shreves.
