1d Red Smooth Paperspecialised shades collection, G19 (BW #71J) to G32 (BW #71W) in a 64 page Lighthouse stockbook with substantial duplication throughout the ‘G’ numbers including a range of ACSC listed varieties. The collection has been relocated (sadly) from an old time annotated collection on pages with the typed annotations cut out and placed into the stockbook. Many are attributed to Orlo Smith, F & J Thornhill and an unknown Mr. Watson with the classification basis apparently mostly being the Colenso Blogg date shade relationship. Only some of the better well known shades have been (mostly incompletely) UV checked with some being accurately identified under UV and others not, but noted salmon eosin BW #71S (all checked however only one correct but with a blunt corner perf), pink BW #71T, carmine-pink BW #71U (one with Inverted Wmk), pale terra cotta BW #71Q and brown-red BW #71W. Further checking of the remainder these shades and all the others in the ‘G’ range should reward. (600++) (Image1)
