1945 DUKE OF GLOUCESTER: 2½d dull carmine-lake, 3½d deep ultramarine & 5½d blue-black die proofs on unwatermarked wove paper with huge margins ACSC 233-5DP(1), Cat $12,000 recessed in a single mount. Superb! [The ACSC lists these die proofs in "lake", "bright blue" & "indigo", that is in the same colours as the issued stamps. However, all three proofs - especially the 5½d - are in distinctly different shades. This, of course, makes them all the more significant. Arthur Gray's set in the original mount - the 5½d with a 'tonespot', which is more likely a stain caused by degrading adhesive - sold for £3600] (3)
1946 PEACE: 2½d red with No Watermark marginal pair from the base of the sheet with Authority Imprint ACSC #236az, a couple of tiny tonespots in the margin, unmounted, Cat $1750 for an unmounted imprint block of 4.
1946 MAJOR MITCHELL: 2½d deep red marginal block of 4, the last unit with the Portrait & 'AUSTRALIA' largely Obliterated by Excess Ink, unmounted. Curious: if this was a doctor-blade flaw, one would expect it to affect at least the adjoining unit above.
1946 MAJOR MITCHELL: 2½d deep red Imperforate Block of 4 with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 236ba from the U/L of the sheet, unmounted, Cat $1500+ (for two pairs).

1946 MAJOR MITCHELL: 2½d deep red block of 4 with two units Partly Imperforate as the result of a pre-perforating paper-fold, unmounted. Very rare: unrecorded in the ACSC.
1947 NEWCASTLE SESQUICENTENARY: 2½d dull carmine-lake on pinkish paper (not noted thus in the ACSC), 3½d blue & 5½d die proofs recessed in separate presentation mounts ACSC 242-244DP(1), boxed 'CBA/NOTE PRINTING/BRANCH/("26/12-8-47")', '.../("28")/...' or '.../("34")/...' on the reverse of the cards, the 3½d with a few tonespots on the fold-over paper protector with very minor transference to the base of the mount, the 2½d & 5½d are pristine!, Cat $9000. These are believed to be Ex Sir Daryl Lindsay, stated in the ACSC to have been unnumbered. Arthur Gray's similar set - also with minor blemishes on the 3½d - sold for £1920]
