1932 (March 19; Opening Day) usage of red-brown/yellow telegram with typed header from 'NORTH EAST PYLON ... 6.18PM', short message "Best Wishes from the Bridge" and very fine '...SE PYLON ... 8.45P' receiving cds, small closed edge tear, the matching envelope to "Miss Iverach, General Hospital, Toowoomba" (Qld) with a largely fine strike of the same cds, a little roughly opened at top with a small part of the back flap missing. Most telegrams were sent to the Bridge from outside offices; this item was sent by a visitor at the North East Pylon Post & Telegraph Office to the SE Pylon and then posted to the recipient. Barbara Hancock in 'Australian Telegram Forms & Envelopes - Part II Commonwealth of Australia' at p284 states that "During the two week period [of the Pylon POs] only 378 pylon-to-pylon telegrams were lodged [out of a total of 12,327 souvenir telegrams used]".  (2 items)
