1932 (March 4; two weeks prior to Opening Day) usage of red-brown/yellow telegram with message promoting the Opening Ceremonies "Great Historic Event ... also Royal Show Interstate Cricket Racing Bowling Surf and other carnivals ... Railways providing cheap excursion trains ..." signed HW Newman, Secretary (for Railways), to HT O'Neill, Royal Hotel, Taree with very fine 'TAREE/NSW' arrival cds, a couple of very minor blemishes.
1932 (March 19; Opening Day) usage of red-brown/yellow telegram with typed header from 'NORTH EAST PYLON ... 6.18PM', short message "Best Wishes from the Bridge" and very fine '...SE PYLON ... 8.45P' receiving cds, small closed edge tear, the matching envelope to "Miss Iverach, General Hospital, Toowoomba" (Qld) with a largely fine strike of the same cds, a little roughly opened at top with a small part of the back flap missing. Most telegrams were sent to the Bridge from outside offices; this item was sent by a visitor at the North East Pylon Post & Telegraph Office to the SE Pylon and then posted to the recipient. Barbara Hancock in 'Australian Telegram Forms & Envelopes - Part II Commonwealth of Australia' at p284 states that "During the two week period [of the Pylon POs] only 378 pylon-to-pylon telegrams were lodged [out of a total of 12,327 souvenir telegrams used]".

1932 (March 19; Opening Day) usage of red-brown/yellow telegram with message "Good Luck will be home tomorrow" and '...SE PYLON ...' cds, the matching envelope to Oberon (NSW) with a largely very fine strike of the scarce 'SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE/ -1- ' reserve cds used on articles that were otherwise uncancelled. The similar 'Tillie Mitchell' item sold for $797.

1934 (March 23) very late usage of red-brown/yellow telegram with promotional message from the Postmaster "...sent from new Post Office situated in South Eastern Pylon ... we have 45 permanent employees & 60 entertaining attractions in most amazing exhibition in Southern Hemisphere. Urge you to visit ...", largely very fine 'CHIEF TELEGRAPH OFFICE/SYDNEY' cds, minor faults along the central fold & lower edge. Rare. The similar 'Tillie Mitchell' item sold for $944. [The NE Pylon & SE Pylon offices closed 2.4.1932, after the opening ceremonies. A permanent Sydney Harbour Bridge post office opened 19.3.1934 & closed 14.7.1942 (see Lot 383).
