1932 Kingsford Smith 'Southern Cross' Opening Day Commemoration Flight 'Harbour Bridge Sydney NSW from Botancial Gardens' real photo postcard by Samuel Wood with typed "Carried by Aeroplane/ Southern Cross" endorsement signed by the pilot "CKingsford Smith" and others including "John JC Bradfield" (the bridge's designer), "Philip Game" (the Governor), "John T Lang" (the Premier), "Sam Walder" (the Lord Mayor) & four MLAs, gold/ochre commemorative foil label and 2d Letterpress tied by '...OPENING CELEBRATIONS' slogan machine cancel, AAMC 256, grossly under-catalogued at $1800. Kingsford Smith flew a party of senior engineers - including Bradfield - over the Bridge on Opening Day; only 15 cards were carried. Ex Maurice Williams; sold for $9488.

1934 Australia-Papua and New Guinea with 2d Recess, 2d Letterpress, 3d blue & 5/- dark green plus Kingsford Smith 2d 3d & 6d and Victorian Centenary 2d 3d & 1/- all tied by 'GRAFTON/18JL/NSW' cds with black & blue R label on face to oversize long-format envelope (276x122mm) addressed to 'The Chief Postmaster/Port Moresby/Papua' with 'COL URQUHART/GRAFTON/CHEMIST' red wax seal on reverse, very fine strike of the First Flight cachet (AAMC 390) at left, light vertical folds affecting some adhesives including the 5/- (still reasonably fine) and some aging marks & other blemishes.
