ONE PENNY: 1d brown with the Watermark Inverted SG 140 (CP A1s; Scott 45), tiny & inconsequential thin spot at the base, Auckland duplex largely clear of the Queen's portrait, Cat £12,000 (NZ$25,000; US$8750). One of the rarest stamps of New Zealand, of which no unused examples have been recorded. RPSofL Certificate (1999). [Joseph Hackmey's better centred example sold in 2009 for US$9600]
TWO PENCE: 2d vermilion SG 141 (CP A2v; Scott 46), well centred, two stained perfs at upper-right, large-part o.g., Cat £2500 (NZ$5000; US$1300). A rare stamp, on remainders of 'NZ' paper from the 1864 printings. RPSofNZ Certificate (2022) refers to "a faint paper crease across NEW", that we cannot see.
TWO PENCE: 2d pale vermilion Retouched SG 141a (CP A2vY; Scott 46var), unusually well centred with characteristic irregular perfs clear of the design on all sides, '01'-in-Bars cancel, Cat £600 (NZ$1000; US$375+). RPSofNZ Certificate (2023).
