Thomas Ham Printings plated selection on display pages comprising Original State of Dies 1d orange-brown SG1a (full margins; creased with internal tear but still a presentable #1), 2d lilac-mauve (attractive shade; just shaved at base & horizontal crease) with very fine Butterfly '23' of Burn Bank (rated R) & 3d blue x2 (one with full margins), Second State of Dies 1d red-brown (just touched at upper-right), 2d grey x4 (one very fine) & 3d x3 (all full margins; two with small thins), Third State (Frame Lines Added) 1d x9, 2d x3 and 3d x7 including a horizontal pair, and White Veils 3d x4 (one marginal just touching to huge) plus Retouched Lower-Left Corner (small surface fault), good range of shades, condition variable but most are of fine appearance, Cat £10,000+ (minimum).  (38)

Thomas Ham Printings Original State of Dies (Thin Line at Top) 1d orange-brown SG 1b with 'Tear Drop' Elongation on 'T' of 'VICTORIA' at Left [Pos 4], margins close to large, very fine Butterfly Numeral '15' cancel of Geelong in blue, ironed-out horizontal crease just visible from the face, Cat £2500. Despite the crease, an attractive First Issue stamp with a major Primary Flaw.

Thomas Ham Printings Original State of Dies 2d lilac-rose Stone A as SG 2 but an unlisted shade Pos [26], margins close to good, just-legible Butterfly '37' receiving cancel of Melbourne in blue, Cat £1200+ for the lilac-mauve shade. RPSofV Certificate (2011), now lost. Ex John Barwis; sold for £2880. Stated to be the finest of the six recorded examples of this distinctive shade first recognised by JRW Purves and believed by him to be from the first few sheets printed. Absent from Gary Diffen's collection. John Barwis at page 77 states that "six are now known ... only two of these are in private hands".

Thomas Ham Printings Third State of Dies (Outer Frame Lines Added) 1d deep red-brown as SG 9 but on Vertically Laid Paper horizontal pair Pos [1-2], margins close to touching in places, cut-into slightly at base & small scissor-cut at upper-left, two largely very fine strikes of Barred Oval '1' cancel of Melbourne, Cat £2400+. Barwis & Moreton state at page 66 that "Deep red-brown ... is by far the rarest shade. Purves estimated that fewer than a dozen exist" including a pair on cover. John Barwis' defective pair was described as "the only recorded multiple of this exceptionally rare shade". This item is presumably only the third recorded pair.
